I enjoy following your articles in WoBao. I am also expecting my 1st child and is due in 2-3 weeks time. So I can share the joys, concerns, problems of a to-be-parent.
I have a question : I remember u said that HH has itchy tummy some weeks ago. How did she resolve it ? Now I am facing the same problem. My tummy has a lot of rashes! Appreciate if u can leave me an email for advice. I have tried moisturising cream/oil and now calamine lotion too :(( I wake up a few times at night but sometimes nothing can relieve the itch.
hi itchy mum
my gynae prescribed an ointment callled Elomet for me,
not sure if you can get it off the counter at the pharmacy, coz it’s likely to be available only by prescription
he also gave me a jar of moisturising cream called QV cream, to prevent dryness
on top of that, i have to bathe the affected area with DermaVeen shower and bath lotion, it contains oatmeal, leaves a moisturising layer after u bathe
the itchiness eased after one or two days
hope this helps ：）
I will source for DermaVeen asap. As for elomet cream, I got to see if my gynea prescribe. But your gynea is ‘not bad’; when I called up the clinic to enquire, nurse asked me to use calamine lotion. She said if by the next appointment I am still having itchiness, gynea will refer me to a demartologist 😦
Mine has developed into rashes. Looks really horrible. Was yours that bad ? When did it occur ?
my tummy was worse…like a red swollen ball 😛
i scratched so much that some areas were peeling
think it was becoz of the stretch mark cream i was using…..
that time, was so worried abt the problem, but a colleague of mine reassured me that she had the same “itchy belly” problem in her third trimester also, made me slightly relieved that i was not the only one with the problem….:-)
the dermaveen was quite effective on its own, i didn’t use much of the elomet coz it was a kind of steroid, was kinda worried abt its effect on the baby……
hope ur problem will pass soon….take care ya……
